In February, Christ the King Church sent Hayden Sealander and David Glade along with his two daughters to Kenya to visit a local pastor that they support.

This virtual Prayer and Praise night is an opportunity to hear ministry updates as well as prayer requests from their programs around the world. It’s sure to be an evening of inspiration and encouragement.

In February 2022, Russian forces invaded Ukraine, starting a war that will have ramifications long into the future. The Anglican Relief and Development Fund (ARDF) is collecting funds to support the local church as they minister to those affected.

Held every three years, the New Wineskins Conference is an intergenerational gathering of missional Christians, seeking to join God in His work to reach every tribe, tongue and nation.

After lunch and a short program, our Seniors joined another 50 TIPS (Truro Programs & Services) international guests and volunteers for a beautiful program in the Sanctuary at Truro Anglican.

In the past 6 months (since the last project update on May 1, 2021), ARDF has sent nearly $340,000 to projects in: Egypt, Ghana, India, Kenya, Myanmar, Nigeria, South Sudan, and Tanzania. We also funded a project in an undisclosed country (due to security reasons).

On November 5, 7 p.m., in recognition of International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted, you are invited to The Falls Church Anglican for an evening of worship and prayer for our brothers and sisters who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus.

More than 30 members of Christ the King showed up to the donation center to organize their donations and make the center useable for new Afghan refugee families.

New Wineskins for Global Mission conferences occur every three years. This conference is more than a global missions training conference. It has become a family reunion for mission-minded Anglicans from all over the world.

On Sept. 10, Jessica Hughes, priest in the Diocese, was featured in an article on the Uganda Partners website. The article discusses Jessica’s recent appointment as the head of the university’s Online Distance Learning (ODL) department.

In recent weeks, as we have read the news from Afghanistan, our hearts are troubled. As our military mission there has ended, so many Afghan refugees are arriving here – and the DC/Maryland/Virginia area is a major focus for their immediate resettlement. In short, we have a missional opportunity to show the love of Christ to these Afghan families, our new neighbors, welcoming the stranger (Matt. 25:39) and showing true hospitality to those in need. We have an unprecedented opportunity work in unity with area churches to meet these needs.

As the world seemingly darkens, remember that the Church is to be a light to the world, pointing to the One who is the Light of life. Let us remain united together in Christ, as citizens of heaven, opposing the powers of darkness,

Can you imagine praying at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, visiting the oasis of En Gedi where David hid from Saul, or walking in the hills along the Sea of Galilee where Jesus taught? We will be doing all of these things and much more as part of Epiphany's pilgrimage to the Holy Land February 14-24 next year.
