The service was a poignant reminder of the diaconal calling that undergirds all ordained ministry. Several friends attending the ordination commented on part of the Bishop’s exhortation, “…you are to interpret to the church the needs, concerns and hopes of the world.”

On Friday, Nov. 19, the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic’s postulants gathered with Bishop John and members of the Examining Chaplains at The Falls Church Anglican for a half-day practicum aimed at developing their skills as leaders of Anglican worship.

On Sept. 10, Jessica Hughes, priest in the Diocese, was featured in an article on the Uganda Partners website. The article discusses Jessica’s recent appointment as the head of the university’s Online Distance Learning (ODL) department.

Celebrate the gift of work, and the gift of human labor - knowing that in the Lord, God has established the work of our hands - our labor is not in vain.

“God, are you saying ‘yes’ to me being a pastor?” This was the question I asked God throughout my 20’s and early 30’s, as I enjoyed stepping into my calling as a worship leader, but as I had a suspicion that God had more in mind for me.
