On Sunday August 29, 2021, Hurricane Ida slammed into the coast of Louisiana with sustained winds just below that of a category five hurricane. We are praying for those without power and for those affected by flash floods and heavy rainfall.

While the extent of the damage from Ida is not yet known, we are excited to announce that the Anglican Church is ready.

In recent weeks, as we have read the news from Afghanistan, our hearts are troubled. As our military mission there has ended, so many Afghan refugees are arriving here – and the DC/Maryland/Virginia area is a major focus for their immediate resettlement. In short, we have a missional opportunity to show the love of Christ to these Afghan families, our new neighbors, welcoming the stranger (Matt. 25:39) and showing true hospitality to those in need. We have an unprecedented opportunity work in unity with area churches to meet these needs.

Anglican Church in North America churches in Texas are reaching out to those left hungry, thirsty, and homeless due to the ice, extreme cold, and the widespread power outages affecting the region.

Every Wednesday, New Creation partners with the people of the Presbyterian Church of Hagerstown, serving at their weekly Soup Kitchen.

God may ask us to pour out what we have so that he may meet the needs of others and our own needs, as well.

While school is virtual, Immanuel Anglican Church is continuing food distribution each week at Coles Elementary. Thanks to generous donations over 1,500 bags of weekend meals have been distributed since March.

It is the tradition of the church to offer alms during Lent. The Anglian Relief & Development Fund (ARDF) wants to partner with you in this discipline by sharing the stories of those who need our prayers, our encouragement, and our help. The stories in the 2020 Lent Prayer Guide highlight the vital role the church has in providing the most basic of needs: reliable electricity and clean water, while simultaneously bringing the love and hope of Jesus!
