Teaming Up: Epiphany’s Marriage Ministry

Quick: "In which country does the bride put a little sugar in her glove on her wedding day?”*

Fourteen couples from Church of the Epiphany in Chantilly spent time together on Sat., Feb. 6, on Zoom to swap stories from their weddings and try their mettle in a romantically-themed trivia contest. For years, Epiphany has held a marriage enrichment retreat every February. While the pandemic didn’t make that possible this year, the church’s marriage ministry leadership team got creative and brought couples together in order to give spouses something fun to do as a team, and give church members a chance to see each other online.

“I am grateful for the work our Marriage Ministry team does, whether it’s creative events like this one, or the wisdom they provide to couples preparing for marriage at Epiphany,” said the Rev. Peter Frank, Epiphany’s rector.

*Putting a little sugar in the bride’s glove is a Greek tradition.
