Wild, Treasured, Pickleball!
What do “treasure hunts” and “a wild jungle adventure” and “Pickleball” all have in common? These are just a few of the summer fun events churches in the Diocese are hosting for their congregations and communities! And we have the photos to prove it.
Restoration Anglican Church in Arlington, VA held their first annual pickleball tournament on Sunday, July 18. They had over 200 people come out to play, watch, and picnic together. (Submitted by Ryan Goyer, Communications Coordinator for Restoration.) p.s. Pickleball is a fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
Church of the Holy Spirit, Leesburg, VA held a "Jungle Adventure" Vacation Bible Schoo from July 12-14 at the home of the Children's Ministry Director. We had a WILD time learning about God's love. Each day we discussed facts about a jungle animal and a Biblical truth relating to the animal. Our day continued with a Bible lesson and songs. The children rotated throughout the morning to a craft station, snack station and a time of fun games! We had five children attend and each one expressed such joy to come each day to participate in the activities of the day. God richly blessed our VBS program this year. All Saints’ Church in Woodbridge, VA hosted a VBS at the church using the “Treasured” curriculum from Group Publishing. Over 70 children discovered they are priceless to God as they embarked on an epic quest through hidden ruins, ancient caves, and dense jungles. These five days helped kids discover God's greatest treasure isn't diamonds, gems, or gold—it's them!
