New Class on Aging

Anglicans for Life Series on Aging
Eight Tuesdays starting April 22, 1:30-3 p.m.
Church of the Apostles Anglican
Fairfax, VA

Church of the Apostles, Fairfax, VA, invites you to an education series developed by Anglicans for Life to tackle aging and dying. No one likes to talk about dying, but Leviticus 19:32 states, “Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God, for I am the Lord.”

In this series we will discuss:

  • The Biblical foundation for the Sanctity of Life

  • The challenges of aging and practical steps to address them

  • How efforts to hasten death extend beyond euthanasia and assisted suicide

  • How the church can help elderly members have peace at the end of life

Goals include:

  • Develop a deeper Biblical perspective on death

  • Discover how to prepare yourself or others for aging and death

  • Gain inspiration through the handbook

  • Appreciate the joy and beauty of aging

  • Recognize the methods of hastening death in our culture

  • As a church provide practical help so we can age with grace and die with faith

We hope our hearts will grow understanding and advocacy for ourselves and others, and that we will be able to share the message of the hope of our salvation and provide assurance of an eternal home. Registration here.
