Introducing Our Canon to the Ordinary: The Rev. Greg Hampton

On Sept. 12, at Clergy Day, Bishop Chris was pleased to announce the selection of The Rev. Greg Hampton as the Canon to the Ordinary. Greg possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience within the Diocese. Ordained to the priesthood in 2010, Greg has been actively engaged in numerous DOMA committees and ministries, including serving as Chairman for the Committee on Constitution and Canons. Greg shares, "I am grateful to be called to serve the Bishop, this Diocese, and its churches as we glorify Jesus Christ and proclaim His kingdom."  

As Canon, Greg will assist the Bishop by supervising various diocesan projects and initiatives.  He will also oversee the administrative processes related to ordination and manage clergy credentialing and transfers.Greg and Maura live in Newport News and enjoy bike rides along the beautiful James River.
