Anglian Church of the Valley participates in the the Holiday Festival of Light
The Anglican Church of the Valley in Staunton, VA again mounted its display in the Staunton Celebration of Holiday Lights. The celebration, now in its 16th year, features light displays from organizations, families, businesses and others throughout the city’s sprawling Gypsy Hill Park. ACOTV has had a display in the park every year since its founding. The current display features 8-foot letters spelling out the word JOY with an image of Mary and Christ Child in the center of the “O.” The drive-through light display is free and annually attracts more than 20,000 cars. The displays will remain up until after New Year’s. The church’s initial display was a manger scene in silhouette with a star floating 18 feet in the air. The ACOTV displays have frequently won prizes from the Celebration’s organizers for innovation. And the construction of the display every year is always a time of humor and fellowship among church members as the structure is assembled.
