September is Child Protection Month

The Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic accepts with deep gratitude and seriousness the trust given us by God to nurture and care for his people, especially those who are most vulnerable and in need of protection. This is nowhere more true than when caring for our children and youth.

Everyone who serves the church through educational, pastoral, recreational or other activities is expected to maintain the highest biblical standards in relationships with those to whom they minister, avoiding any form of misconduct against children through regular screening, training, and certification.

As a continued part of ensuring the protection of our children, September will become Child Protection Training Month for Clergy of the Diocese. Read more about the Diocesan policy here.
